Kissa was born in Odessa, Texas; raised in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; but got back to Texas as soon as possible. A graduate of Oklahoma City University and Perkins School of Theology at SMU, Kissa has been serving in ordained ministry for over 25 years. She has served churches in Arkansas and been on staff at the Arkansas Annual Conference. Once she met and married her husband, Doug, she moved to the Central Texas Conference where she has served at FUMC Grapevine, Watauga UMC, Troy UMC, Grace UMC Copperas Cove and now at St. Barnabas.
Doug and Kissa have two adopted children, Hamilton and Madison. Kissa is a gourmet cook and loves to entertain. She is reader and loves to work a good jigsaw puzzle.
